Wear and tear of stamping dies of hardware stamping parts manufacturers needs to be dealt with promptly. The following are ways to deal with it.
1. Replace worn die guides and punches in time.
2. Check whether the clearance of the stamping die is unreasonable (small) and increase the clearance of the lower die.
3. Minimise wear, improve lubrication conditions and lubricate plates and punches. The amount of oil and the number of times of oiling depend on the conditions of the material being processed. Stainless materials such as cold rolled steel plates and corrosion resistant steel plates should be oiled in the die, with the oiling points being the guide bush, the oiling port and the lower die.
Hardware stampings manufacturers use light engine oil. When processing materials with rusty skins, the rusty micronized powder is drawn between the punch and the guide bush, creating dirt that prevents the punch from sliding freely in the guide bush. This situation, if oiled, will make it easier for the rusty skin to go on.
So when stamping this material, instead clean the oil and break it down once a month, using steam (diesel) oil to remove the dirt from the punch and the lower die, then clean it again before reassembling.
In this way, good lubrication performance of the die can be ensured.
4. Improper grinding methods can cause the die to anneal and increase wear. Soft abrasive grinding wheels, low tool feed, adequate coolant and frequent cleaning of the grinding wheels should be used.
