BMC thermosetting material parts manufacturer to introduce you to this material mold has what kind of performance advantages.

BMC moulding plastic Block moulding plastic has excellent electrical properties, mechanical properties, heat resistance, chemical resistance, suitable for a variety of molding processes, can meet the performance requirements of a variety of products, and therefore increasingly favoured by the majority of users of users.

Bulk Molding Compounds (BMC) are thermoset plastics with a blend of inert fillers, fibre reinforcements, catalysts, stabilisers and pigments to form a thermoplastic for compression or injection moulding. A viscous "putty-like" composite. Bulk moulding compounds (BMC mouldings) are highly filled and reinforced with short fibres, 10% to 30% glass fibre reinforcement and are typically between 1/32" and 1/2" (12.5 mm) in length.

Depending on the end application, the formulated composites can be precisely dimensioned, have good flame and electrical trace resistance, high dielectric strength, corrosion and contamination resistance, excellent mechanical properties, and low and stable shrinkage and colour. Bulk Molding Compound (BMC Molding Compound) has excellent flowability and outstanding insulating and flame retardant properties, making it ideal for a wide range of applications where precise detail and dimensions are required. The material is available in 75 colours and can resist powder coating or water-based coatings.

Performance:

agglomerated prepreg made from a blend of short-cut glass fibres and unsaturated polyester slurry. Suitable for moulding, transfer moulding and injection moulding processes. The resulting product has good mechanical properties, high dimensional stability, good surface finish, water resistance, oil resistance, corrosion resistance, heat resistance and electrical properties. Excellent, especially the arc resistance can reach about 190s.

1. General performance: The ratio of BMC moulding compound (DMC) is relatively large, between 1.3-2.1; the appearance of the product is bright, with a good feel and a hard and heavy hand; heating with fire will produce a lot of soot and a styrene smell; some varieties of BMC moulding compound (DMC) are flammable, but some varieties are extremely flammable and leave inorganic substances after burning.

2. Dimensional stability: The coefficient of linear expansion of BMC moulding compound (DMC) is (1.3-3.5) × 10-5K-1, which is smaller than that of general thermoplastics, thus making BMC moulding compound (DMC)) have high dimensional stability and dimensional accuracy. Temperature has little effect on the dimensional stability of BMC moulding compounds (DMC), but humidity has a more serious effect, as BMC moulding compounds will swell when they absorb moisture. The coefficient of linear expansion of BMC moulding compound (DMC) is very close to that of steel and aluminium, so it can be compounded with them.

3. Mechanical strength: The tensile, bending and impact strengths of BMC mouldings (DMC) are higher than those of thermoplastics, and the creep resistance is also better than that of thermoplastics.

4. Water and solvent resistance: BMC moulding compound (DMC) has good corrosion resistance to water, ethanol, aliphatic hydrocarbons, grease, oil, but not to ketones, chlorinated hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons, acids and bases, etc. BMC moulding compound (DMC) has low water absorption and good heat preservation performance even after a day of immersion.

5. Heat resistance: BMC moulding plastic (DMC) heat resistance is better than the general engineering plastics, heat deflection temperature HDT 200-280 ℃, can be used under 130 ℃ for a long time.

6. Ageing resistance: BMC moulding compound (DMC) has good ageing resistance and can be used indoors for 15-20 years and exposed outdoors for 10 years with a strength retention rate of over 60%.

7. Electrical performance: BMC moulding compound (DMC) has the most outstanding resistance to electric arc, up to about 190 seconds.

8. Low odour: The styrene crosslinker used in BMC moulding compounds (DMC) has a residue of 0.1% after curing and emits an odour when heated. Therefore, BMC moulding compounds (DMC) used for food utensils (e.g. microwave tableware) should be selected from UP resins that do not contain styrene monomer residues.
