BMC thermoset parts manufacturers have excellent electrical and mechanical properties, heat and chemical resistance, and are suitable for a variety of moulding processes to meet the performance requirements of a wide range of products and are therefore increasingly popular with users. BMC thermoset components are thermoset plastics in which various inert fillers, fibre reinforcements, catalysts, stabilisers and pigments are mixed together to form a binder 'putty-like' composite for compression or injection moulding. Bulk Molding Compounds (BMC Molding Compounds) are highly filled and reinforced with short, 10% to 30% glass fibre reinforcement, typically between 1/32" and 1/2" (12.5mm) in length.

Depending on the end application, the compounds are formulated to provide precise dimensional control, good flame retardancy and creep resistance, high dielectric strength, corrosion and contamination resistance, excellent mechanical properties, low shrinkage and colour stability. The excellent flow properties of Block Molding Compound (BMC Molding Compound) and the excellent insulating and flame retardant properties make it ideal for a wide range of applications where detail and dimensional accuracy are required. The material is available in a choice of 75 colours and is resistant to powder coating or water-based coatings. Features: Bulk prepreg made from a blend of short-cut glass fibres and unsaturated polyester paste.

Suitable for moulding, transfer moulding, injection moulding and other processes. The resulting products have good mechanical properties, high dimensional stability, good surface finish, water resistance, oil resistance, corrosion resistance, heat resistance and electrical properties. Excellent, in particular, resistance to arcing up to approximately 190 seconds. General properties: BMC moulding compound (DMC) with large proportions ranging from 1.3 to 2.1, the product has a bright appearance and a good feel. It is hard and heavy; heating by fire produces a lot of soot and styrene odour; some types of BMC moulding compound (DMC) are flammable, but some are very flammable and leave inorganic material when burned.

Dimensional stability: The coefficient of linear expansion of BMC moulding compounds (DMC) is lower than that of ordinary thermoplastics, giving BMC moulding compounds (DMC) greater dimensional stability and dimensional stability. Mechanical strength: BMC moulding compounds (DMC) have higher tensile, flexural and impact strengths than thermoplastics, and better creep properties than thermoplastics.

Water and solvent resistance: BMC moulding compound (DMC) has good resistance to water, ethanol, aliphatic hydrocarbons, grease and oil, but poor resistance to ketones, chlorinated hydrocarbons, aromatics, acids and alkalis. After a day's immersion, DMC has low water absorption and good thermal insulation properties. Heat resistance: The heat resistance of BMC moulding compound (DMC) is better than that of general engineering plastics. The heat deflection temperature is 200-280 ℃, and it can be used for a long time at 130 ℃. Ageing resistance: BMC moulding compound (DMC) has good ageing resistance. It can be used indoors for 15-20 years and has a strength retention rate of over 60% after 10 years of outdoor exposure.
